
John Scott (18 May 1782-1 October 1861) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-MO AL) from 10 August 1821 to 3 March 1827, preceding Edward Bates. Born in Hanover County, Virginia, he was raised in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, and he practiced law before serving as a territorial delegate to Congress from 1816 to 1821 and in Congress from 1821 to 1827. He died in 1861.
