John Richards (18 April 1753 – 13 November 1822) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-PA 4) from 1796 to 1797, preceding John Chapman and preceding Samuel Sitgreaves.

John Richards was born in New Hanover, Pennsylvania in 1753, the older brother of Matthias Richards. He served as a Justice of the Peace for Philadelphia County from 1777 until his death in 1822; he also served in the US House of Representatives from 1796 to 1797. Richards died in 1822.
