
John Richards (13 April 1765-18 April 1850) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-NY 19) from 4 March 1823 to 3 March 1825, succeeding Elisha Litchfield and preceding Henry H. Ross. Born in Llanuwchlyyn, Gwynedd, Wales, Richards settled in Johnsburg, New York and served as a common pleas judge from 1805 to 1850, as town supervisor, in the State Assembly in 1811 and from 1814 to 1815, and in Congress.
