John Patterson (10 February 1771-7 February 1848) was a member of the US House of Representatives (NR-OH 10) from 4 March 1823 to 4 March 1825, preceding David Jennings. The half-brother of Thomas Patterson, he was born in Little Britain Township, Pennsylvania and raised in Cross Creek and St. Clairsville, Ohio. Patterson served as Mayor of St. Clairsville from 1807 to 1808, in the state house from 1807 to 1808, in the state senate from 1815 to 1818, as a judge from 1810 to 1815, and in Congress from 1823 to 1825.
