
John Page (21 May 1787 – 8 September 1865) was a US Senator from New Hampshire (D) from 8 June 1836 to 3 March 1837 (succeeding Isaac Hill and preceding Franklin Pierce) and Governor from 5 June 1839 to 2 June 1842 (succeeding Hill and preceding Henry Hubbard).
Biography[]
John Page was born in Haverhill, New Hampshire in 1787, and he worked as a farmer before serving as a militia lieutenant during the War of 1812. From 1818 to 1820, he served his first term in the State House of Representatives, and he would go on to serve many more. From 1836 to 1837, he served in the US Senate to fill Isaac Hill's vacant seat, and he also served as Governor from 1839 to 1842. He died in 1865.
