
John Singleton Millson (1 October 1808-1 March 1874) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-VA 1) from 4 March 1849 to 3 March 1853 (succeeding Archibald Atkinson and preceding Thomas H. Bayly) and from VA-2 from 4 March 1853 to 3 March 1861 (succeeding Richard Kidder Meade and preceding James H. Platt Jr.. Born in Norfolk, he practiced law before serving in Congress; he was one of only two Southern Democrats to vote against the Kansas-Nebraska Act, the other being Thomas Hart Benson.
