
John Malcolm Breck (9 April 1828-21 February 1900) was the Republican Mayor of Portland, Oregon from 1861 to 1862, succeeding G. Collier Robbins and preceding William H. Farrar.
Biography[]
John Malcolm Breck was born in Berks County, Pennsylvania in 1828. He moved to Wisconsin at the age of 16 and then to Oregon in 1858, and he served as assessor of Portland from 1857 to 1858. Breck served as Mayor from 1861 to 1862, as a city councilman from 1868 to 1870, and as city assessor from 1872 to 1873, and he died in 1900.
