John Ganson

John Ganson (1 January 1818-28 September 1874) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-NY 30) from 4 March 1863 to 3 March 1865, succeeding Augustus Frank and preceding James M. Humphrey.

Biography[]

John Ganson was born in Le Roy, New York in 1818, and he became a lawyer in Canandaigua in 1846 and moved to Buffalo that same year. He served in the State Senate from 1862 to 1863, in the US House of Representatives from 1863 to 1865, as a railroad director after the American Civil War, and in the State Senate in 1874, when he died.
