
John Edward James (8 June 1981-) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-MI 10) from 3 January 2023, succeeding Lisa McClain.
Biography[]
John Edward James was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1981, and he served in the US Army from 2004 to 2012, piloting an Apache helicopter during the Iraq War. In 2012, he joined his family's supply chain business, becoming its director of operations. In 2018, James ran for US Senate as a Republican, challenging Democratic incumbent Debbie Stabenow with Donald Trump's backing. He narrowly lost with 45.8% of the vote to Stabenow's 52.3%, and he was later considered for the position of Ambassador to the United Nations. In 2020, he once again ran for Senator, challenging Democratic incumbent Gary Peters. He was defeated by a close margin of 48.3% to 49.8%. In 2022, he was elected to the House as the representative for the redistricted 10th district.
