
John E. Coffee (3 December 1782-25 September 1836) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-GA AL) from 4 March 1833 to 25 September 1836, succeeding Daniel Newnan and preceding William C. Dawson. Born in Prince Edward County, Virginia, he was raised in Powelton, Georgia before developing his own plantation in Jacksonville, Telfair County. He served in the state senate from 1819 to 1827 and in Congress.
