John Dutton Sr. in 1923.
John Dutton Sr. (1878-1923) was an American cowboy, cattle rancher, and businessman from Montana, who was active in both the Wild West era and during the Roaring Twenties. He was the second child of James Dutton and his with Margret. He was originally from Tennessee, but accompanied his parents and older sister Elsa out west in 1883. He was killed by Banner Creighton during the 1923 Montana Range War.
