John D. Daggett

John D. Daggett (4 October 1793-10 May 1874) was the Whig Mayor of St. Louis from 1841 to 1843, succeeding John Fletcher Darby and preceding George Maguire.

Biography[]

John D. Daggett was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts in 1793, and he worked as a locksmith. He moved to St. Louis in 1817, was elected to the board of aldermen in 1827, as street commissioner in 1838, and as Mayor from 1841 to 1843. He died in 1874.
