
John Crafts Wright (17 August 1783-13 February 1861) was a member of the US House of Representatives (NR-OH 11) from 4 March 1823 to 3 March 1829, preceding John M. Goodenow. Born in Wethersfield, Connecticut, he edited a newspaper in Troy, New York before becoming a lawyer in Steubenville, Ohio in 1809. He served as a district attorney in 1817, in Congress from 1823 to 1829, on the Ohio Supreme Court from 1831 to 1835, as a railroad director, and as honorary president of the Peace Conference of 1861.
