
John Calhoun Nicholls (25 April 1834-25 December 1893) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-GA 1) from 4 March 1879 to 3 March 1881 (succeeding William B. Fleming and preceding George R. Black) and from 4 March 1883 to 3 March 1885 (succeeding Black and preceding Thomas M. Norwood).
Biography[]
John Calhoun Nicholls was born in Clinton, Georgia in 1834, and he practiced law in Waynesville before serving in the 4th Georgia Cavalry Regiment during the American Civil War. After the war, he practiced law in Blackshear before serving in the state senate from 1870 to 1875 and in the US House of Representatives from 1879 to 1881 and from 1883 to 1885, and he died in 1893.
