
John Coggswell Conner (14 October 1842-10 December 1873) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-TX 2) from 30 March 1870 to 3 March 1873, succeeding Andrew Jackson Hamilton and preceding William P. McLean.
Biography[]
John Coggswell Conner was born in Noblesville, Indiana in 1842, and he served in the Union Army during the American Civil War before launching a failed bid for the State House in 1866. He served in the US Army in Texas from 1866 to 1869, when he was elected to the US House of Representatives as a Democrat. He served until 1873, and he died in Washington DC later that same year.
