
John Bussy (died 29 July 1399) was a Knight of the Shire from Lincolnshire.
Biography[]
John Bussy was born in Hougham, Lincolnshire, England, and he served as the Steward of all of John of Gaunt's lands north of the Trent from 1378 to 1397. From 1383 to 1398, he served as MP for Lincolnshire eleven times, and he also served as Speaker of the House of Commons from 1393 to 1398. Bussy supported the policies of Richard II of England, and Bushy, William Bagot, and Henry Green became his three "continual councillors". On 28 July 1399, he was captured by Henry Bolingbroke at Bristol Castle and beheaded for supporting the confiscation of Bolingbroke's lands.
