
John Banks (17 October 1793-3 April 1864) was a member of the US House of Representatives (AM-PA 18) from 4 March 1831 to 3 March 1833 (succeeding Thomas Hale Sill and preceding George Burd) and from PA-24 from 4 March 1833 to 31 March 1836 (preceding John James Pearson). Born near Lewisburg, he practiced law in Juniata County and Mercer County before serving in Congress. He went on to serve as state treasurer from 1847 to 1848 and died in 1864.
