
John Bernard O'Reilly Jr. (21 September 1948-1 January 2025) was the Democratic Mayor of Dearborn, Michigan from 27 February 2007 to 1 January 2022, succeeding Michael Guido and preceding Abdullah Hammoud. The son of former mayor John B. O'Reilly Sr., he worked for Congressman John Dingell and for the Michigan State Senate before serving as a Dearborn city councilman from 1990 to 2007 and as Mayor from 2007 to 2022. He promoted economic development, community programs, and public infrastructure improvements, but he suffered from memory issues late in his service and retired in 2022 after 32 years of public service. He died in 2025.
