John Alexander Ohio

John Alexander (16 April 1777 – 28 June 1848) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-OH 2) from 4 March 1813 to 3 March 1817, preceding John Wilson Campbell.

Biography[]

John Alexander was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina in 1777, and he later moved to Miamisburg, Montgomery County, Ohio in 1803. He became a lawyer in Xenia, Ohio in 1805, and he also practiced in Columbus, Chillicothe, and Washington DC. From 1808 to 1833, he served as prosecuting attorney, and he also served in the US House of Representatives from 1813 to 1817. He died in Xenia in 1848.
