
John Andrew Peters (9 October 1822-2 April 1904) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-ME 4) from 4 March 1867 to 3 March 1873, succeeding John H. Rice and preceding Samuel F. Hersey.
Biography[]
John Andrew Peters was born in Ellsworth, Maine in 1822, and he became a lawyer in Bangor in 1844 and served as a State Senator from 1862 to 1863, a State Representative in 1864, Attorney General of Maine from 1864 to 1866, and a member of the US House of Representatives from 1867 to 1873. He died in 1904.
