John Anthony Danaher (9 January 1899 – 22 September 1990) was a US Senator from Connecticut (R) from 3 January 1939 to 3 January 1945, succeeding Augustine Lonergan and preceding Brien McMahon.
Biography[]
John Anthony Danaher was born in Meriden, Connecticut in 1899, and he became a lawyer in 1922. He served as US Attorney for the District of Connecticut from 1922 to 1934, Secretary of State of Connecticut from 1933 to 1935, and as a US Senator from 1939 to 1945, when he lost re-election. From 1954 to 1969, he instead served as a circuit court judge in Washington DC, and he died in West Hartford in 1990 at the age of 91.
