Johann Kaspar von Bellegarde

Johann Kaspar von Bellegarde (1656-Winter 1700) was a general of the Electorate of Saxony.

Biography[]

Bellegarde was born in Dresden in the Electorate of Saxony in 1656, and became a general in the Saxon Army as of 1700, leading the army in the city of Dresden. By that year, he had been given command of the defenses of Dresden, and he prepared the city in the case of an attack by Prussia, Austria, or any other larger country.

Assassination

Since Bellegarde was a strong defender, he would need to be erased before a Prussian assault could capture the city. Assassin Karl Moor headed to the city and infiltrated the alleyway behind the Governor's Residence. Moor killed him by stabbing him in the back with a knife, and he fled from the scene, making sure that he was not captured.
