Johann Karolinger (1098-1144) was a diplomat of the Holy Roman Empire during the 12th century. In 1138, he was sent to serve as an envoy to France. He was assassinated near Milan by the French assassint Richart de Provence in 1144, being shot in the back with a blowdart.
