Joe the Elegance (born 1901) was a Cuneo crime family associate.
Biography[]
Joe the Elegance was born and raised in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan, New York City, and he was brought under Mack McNulty's wing from an early age, learning the tricks of the cigar baron. Joe became known as an affable card-shark, and he was given his own racket at The Elegante hotel as an associate of the Cuneo crime family; the less successful Fausto Cuneo Jr. preferred the job of meeting and greeting to gambling. Joe earned a sizable fortune from the gambling racket, and, in December 1945, he was forced to give the Corleone crime family a cut of the action after Aldo Trapani killed the Cuneo guards and roughed him up.
