
Joan of the Tower (5 July 1321-7 September 1362) was Queen Consort of Scotland with David II of Scotland and the daughter of Edward II of England and Isabella of France.
Biography[]
Joan was born on 5 July 1321, and she was born in the Tower of London to Edward II of England and Isabella of France. In October 1326, she was rescued by her mother during the Siege of Bristol along with her sister Eleanor of Woodstock, and she would marry David II of Scotland in 1328. Their marriage was loveless and childless, and in 1357 she decided to remain in England even after Edward III of England released her husband David after years of imprisonment following the Battle of Neville's Cross. She died in 1362 at the age of 41 at Hertford Castle, Hertfordshire.
