Joan Ryan (born 8 September 1955) was the Labour Party MP for Enfield North from 1 May 1997 to 12 April 2010 (succeeding Tim Eggar and preceding Nick de Bois) and from 7 May 2015 to 6 November 2019 (succeeding De Bois and preceding Feryal Clark).
Biography[]
Joan Ryan was born in Warrington, Lancashire, England in 1955, and she worked as a sociology and politics teacher before serving as the Labour Party MP for Enfield North from 1997 to 2010 and from 2015 to 2019. She lost her seat after an expenses scandal in 2010, and she was ousted from her party in a 2018 vote of no-confidence, leading to her serving in The Independent Group until her retirement in 2019.
