
Jo Platt (born 15 June 1973) was the Labour Party MP for Leigh from 9 June 2017 to 6 November 2019 (succeeding Andy Burnham and preceding James Grundy) and for Leigh and Atherton from 4 July 2024 (succeeding Grundy).
Biography[]
Joanne Marie Platt was born in Salford, England on 15 June 1973, and she was elected to the Wigan Council in 2012. She went on to serve in the House of Commons from 2017 to 2019 as the Labour Party MP for Leigh, but she lost her seat to Conservative Party candidate James Grundy amid a blue wave in 2019.
