Jinzaburo Masaki (27 November 1876 – 31 August 1956) was a General of the Imperial Japanese Army who was Sadao Araki's protege and a leader of the Kodoha faction of Japanese politics.
Biography[]
Jinzaburo Masaki was born on 27 November 1876 in Saga Prefecture, Japan. Masaki served on the front in the Russo-Japanese War while in the Imperial Japanese Army, and from 1911 to 1914 he was a military attache to the German Empire. In 1925 he became Commandant of the Japanese Army Academy while a Major-General, and he was an early member of the Kodoha faction under Sadao Araki. He supported Nazi Germany, and in 1935 he was forced to retire; this led to General Tetsuzan Nagata's assassination in 1936 and the February 26 Incident. He died on 31 August 1956.
