Jim Sensenbrenner

Jim Sensenbrenner (14 June 1943-) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-WI 9) from 3 January 1979 to 3 January 2003 (succeeding Bob Kasten) and from WI 5 from 3 January 2003 to 3 January 2021 (succeeding Tom Barrett and preceding Scott L. Fitzgerald).

Biography[]

Jim Sensenbrenner was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1943, and he worked as a staffer before serving in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1968 to 1975 and in the State Senate from 1975 to 1979, when he was elected to the US House of Representatives. He was a member of the Republican Party, and he became one of the most long-lived Republican congressmen. On 4 September 2019, he announced that he would not seek re-election in 2021.
