Jim Gray (1958-4 October 2005) was an Ulster Defense Association leader during The Troubles.
Biography[]
Jim Gray was born in Belfast, County Antrim, Northern Ireland in 1958, and he was involved with petty crime in East Belfast before joining the Ulster Defense Association. In 1992, he became a brigadier after the death of Ned McCreery, and he made large amounts of money through selling drugs, racketeering, and extortion, funding the UDA while feeding his own cocaine habit (as well as his alleged trips to Thailand to procure the services of underage male prostitutes). He was known for his violence, and he was shot in the face by UDA men loyal to his rival, Johnny Adair, on 13 September 2002. On 4 October 2005, he was gunned down by two UDA members outside of his father's Clarawood estate in Belfast.
