
Jim Courter (born 14 October 1941) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-NJ 13) from 3 January 1979 to 3 January 1983 (succeeding Helen Stevenson Meyner and preceding Edwin B. Forsythe) and from NJ 12 from 3 January 1983 to 3 January 1991 (succeeding Matthew J. Rinaldo and preceding Dick Zimmer).
Biography[]
Jim Courter was born in Montclair, New Jersey in 1941, and he became a senior law firm partner in 1971. He served in the US House of Representatives from 1979 to 1991 as a Republican, representing suburban North Jersey (including his home of Hackettstown). After leaving the US Congress, he held several educational positions.
