Jezreel

The Jezreel Valley, also known as the Valley of Megiddo, the Marj ibn Amir, or the Plain of Esdraelon, is a large fertile plain and valley in northern Israel, bordered to the north by Galilee, to the south by Samaria, to the west and northwest by Mount Carmel, and to the east by the Jordan Valley. Its name means "God sows" in Hebrew, and it was the site of the ancient city of Jezreel; the current largest city in the valley is Afula. The valley was the site of the Israelites' battles with the Midianites, Amalekites, and Philistines, including the Battle of Mount Gilboa, and the Christian Book of Revelation predicted a large battle at the Valley of Megiddo (Armageddon) during the end times.
