ZZW

The Jewish Military Union (Zydowski Zwiazek Wojskowy) was a Jewish resistance movement that consisted of former Polish Army officers that resisted Nazi Germany's occupation of Poland. The ZZW was formed in November 1939 by Dawid Moryc Apfelbaum and Henryk Iwanski during World War II to fight against the Nazis, and it took part in the failed 1943 Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. Its role was underplayed, with the socialist Jewish Combat Organization (ZOB) having most of the credit for the limited success of the uprising.
