Jesse Bruce "Cap'n Cook" Pinkman (24 September 1984-) was an American drug trafficker and methamphetamine manufacturer who worked for Walter White during the 2000s.
Biography[]
Jesse Bruce Pinkman was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on 24 September 1984 to an upper-middle-class family, and he played drums for his friends' band "TwaughtHammer" and was a poor student in high school. It was during high school that he first became a user, manufacturer, and dealer of methamphetamines, and he was kicked out of his home after he took the blame for his brother's marijuana possession. He claimed to have attended DeVry University and majored in data systems management, and he went on to buy his aunt's house and become a small-time drug dealer, cooking his signature "Chili P" meth while using the alias "Cap'n Cook". He did business with his elementary school classmate Emilio Koyama and Emilio's cousin Krazy-8, and he narrowly evaded a September 2008 drug bust during which Koyama was arrested by the DEA. During the raid, he noticed that his former chemistry teacher Walter White had witnessed him escape from a neighboring window.
Working with Walt[]
White later confronted Pinkman at his home and demanded that he partner with him in cooking meth, or else he would turn him in to the DEA. Pinkman reluctantly decided to work with his former teacher, whom he did not believe was capable of cooking crystal and becoming a criminal. However, White stole chemistry equipment from the school, bought an mobile meth lab in the form of a Winnebago RV, and created a remarkably potent form of glass-grade meth, impressing Pinkman. Pinkman decided to sell the product to Koyama and Krazy-8, but, after Koyama recognized White from the DEA raid, he and his cousin attempted to kill White; they also threw Pinkman to the ground, causing him to get a black eye. White ultimately persuaded them to let him show them his recipe, only to engineer a chemical explosion which killed Koyama and wounded Krazy-8. White then had Pinkman dissolve Koyama's body with corrosive acid and later (reluctantly) killed Krazy-8 after he made an escape attempt. White then took a break due to his cancer treatment and family troubles, and Pinkman was forced to tell his friends that he was nearly retired from the dope business.
Dealing with Tuco[]
However, White later returned to Jesse after deciding not to undergo chemotherapy, and White told Pinkman to look for a new distributor. Pinkman's friend Skinny Pete recommended Tuco Salamanca, the new dealer in town, and Pinkman and Pete went to Salamanca's apartment and attempted to sell him a pound of meth for $35,000. However, the easy-to-anger Tuco had Pinkman beaten after Pinkman insinuated that he did not trust Tuco for refusing to pay him the money up front, and Tuco insisted that he was the only man who could deal in the South Valley. Pinkman was hospitalized for broken ribs, so White went back to Tuco's apartment to confront him and to take $50,000 for the product and as recompense for Pinkman's injuries. When Salamanca grew combative, Walt used fulminated mercury disguised as meth to create an explosion, and he then intimidated Salamanca into paying the $50,000 and into agreeing to buy two more pounds of meth in the coming weeks, forming a partnership. Pinkman and White later stole methylamine from a warehouse to produce 4.6 pounds of blue meth for Salamanca, leading to a prosperous partnership between them.
