Jerry Jackson was the Republican Mayor of Harrison, Arkansas from 2018, succeeding Dan Sherrell. As mayor, Jackson interacted with Black influencers like Jidon Adams, who made video documentaries of their visits to his town, deemed "the most racist town in America." Jackson was supportive of changing the town's image and ethos, and, in 2023, he awarded Adams the title of "Ambassador of Peace" for Harrison for the good press he had brought to the city's residents, which helped lead to the creation of a new community center. Adams also introduced Jackson to local white nationalist activist Tom Bowie, a frequent critic of Jackson, and credited Bowie with helping his videos become so popular and impactful.
