Jeremiah Morrow (6 October 1771 – 22 March 1852) was a member of the US House of Representatives from Ohio's at-large district from 17 October 1803 to 3 March 1813 and from the 4th district from 13 October 1840 to 3 March 1843 (succeeding Thomas Corwin and preceding Joseph Vance), a US Senator from 4 March 1813 to 4 March 1819 (succeeding Alexander Campbell and preceding William A. Trimble), and Governor from 28 December 1822 to 19 December 1826 (interrupting Allen Trimble's terms). He was the last Democratic-Republican governor of Ohio.
Biography[]
Jeremiah Morrow was born in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in 1771, and he moved to the Northwest Territory in 1795. He settled in what is now Warren County, Ohio, and he was a Presbyterian elder before serving in the Territorial House of Representatives and the Territorial Senate. In 1803, he was elected to serve as Ohio's first member of the US House of Representatives, and he served in the US Senate from 1813 to 1819. From 1822 to 1826, he served as Governor of Ohio, and he returned to the State House and the State Senate. He died in 1852.
