Jefferson Memorial

The Jefferson Memorial is a presidential memorial in Washington DC, dedicated to President Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States, an important Founding Father, and the author of the US Declaration of Independence of 4 July 1776. It was built from 1939 to 1943 in the neoclassical style, making references to the Pantheon in Rome. In 1947, a bronze statue of Jefferson was added.
