
Jeff Shell (1965-) was CEO of NBCUniversal from 2020 to 2023, succeeding Steve Burke and preceding Jason Kilar. Born in Michigan, he worked for the Salomon Brothers investment bank before becoming president of the FOX Cable Network Group in 2001, as president of Comcast Programming Group from 2004, and as CEO of NBCUniversal from 2020 to 2023. In 2008, he endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, although, in 2020, he considered replacing CNBC's primetime offerings of business reality shows with conservative talk shows in a bid to appeal to Republican viewers.
