Biography[]
Jeffrey Neale Jackson was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina in 1982, and he joined the US Army in 2002, serving in the Afghanistan War. He went on to become a prosecutor in Gaston County, and he was elected to the State Senate in a special election in 2004. In 2021, he decided to run for the US Senate, but he ultimately endorsed Cheri Beasley and opted to run for his state's new 14th congressional district. His campaign ran a smear campaign against Republican political candidate Pat Harrigan, resulting in a bullet being fired into the home of Harrigan's parents on 18 October 2022, and Harrigan accusing Jackson's campaign of culpability; Jackson, who had previously filmed an attack ad in front of one of Harrigan's homes, condemned the attack.
