Jaysh al-Sunna

Jaysh al-Sunna was an Islamist group affiliated with the Army of Conquest, fighting in the Syrian Civil War. Jaysh al-Sunna was formed on 20 March 2015 by Ammar Bouqai, and it has over 500 fighters, taking part in the fighting for Idlib Governorate and Jisr al-Shughur. The rebel group was based in Homs Governorate, and the group was bombed by the United States-led coalition on 11 August 2015, with an ammunition depot and base belonging to the group being destroyed in the US Air Force airstrike. On 20 February 2016, it revealed that a convoy of Jaysh al-Sunna fighters was heading from Turkey to Azaz to attack the YPG. On 28 January 2017, the movement merged into the Tahrir al-Sham organization.
