Jay Sizzle was born in New York City, New York, and he became a chef and owner of J. Sizzle's on 40th Street and Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. The Cuneo crime family muscled in on his business and placed Lorenzo Allegro in charge of the racket in his restaurant; in August 1945, Corleone crime family member Aldo Trapani forced Sizzle and Allegro to give their protection money to the Corleones instead.
