Jay Abel Hubbell

Jay Abel Hubbell (15 September 1829-13 October 1900) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-MI 9) from 4 March 1873 to 3 March 1883, preceding Byron M. Cutcheon.

Biography[]

Jay Abel Hubbell was born in Rochester Hills, Michigan on 15 September 1829, and he became a lawyer in 1855. He served as district attorney of the Upper Peninsula from 1857 to 1859, as prosecuting attorney of Houghton County from 1861 to 1867, in the US House of Representatives from 1873 to 1883, in the State Senate from 1885 to 1887, as a Republican presidential elector in 1892, and as a circuit court judge from 1894 to 1899. He died in 1900.
