The Jarabulus Military Council was a Syrian Democratic Forces operations room founded in August 2016 by four brigades of Kurdish YPG and moderate Syrian Opposition fighters led by Abdel Sattar al-Jader. The coalition was formed by local anti-Islamic State forces, and it fought against both IS and the Turkey-backed Syrian Opposition in order to liberate Jarabulus, a task that would be accomplished by the Turkish army and the Syrian rebels.
