The Japan Restoration Party (JRP) was a right-wing populist Japanese political party that was active from 2012 to 2014. The party was created as a "third force" for the 2012 elections, and it became Japan's only national party based outside of Tokyo, using Osaka as its base. The party won 54 lower house and 9 upper house seats, but internal differences led to the party splitting up. Shintaro Ishihara's group formed the Party for Japanese Kokoro, while Toru Hashimoto's faction merged into the Japan Innovation Party.
