The January 2018 Jalalabad attack occurred at 9:10 AM on 24 January 2018 when a suicide squad of four Islamic State attackers bombed and raided the Save the Children charity's offices in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, killing 2+ people and injuring 12+. The attack started when a suicide bomber detonated a car bomb at the compound's gates, and an attacker then fired an RPG at the gates. Afghan commandos joined the police to try and end the attack, and all of the attackers were killed. IS later claimed responsibility, stating that it was targeting British, Swedish, and Afghan institutions in Jalalabad, one of its strongholds; the Taliban denied responsibility.
