Suzanne Lorraine Borce (1 April 1929-16 September 2021) was an American actress, singer, and dancer who rose to fame in the mid-1940s during the "Golden Age of Hollywood". Born in Portland, Oregon, she became locally famous as a child singer and sold victory bonds during World War II. As a teenager, she relocated to Los Angeles and signed a film contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and made her film debut in 1944; she was a successful "girl-next-door" character actress during the 1940s before her film career slowed in the late 1950s. She began acting in national touring theatrical productions during the 1960s and 1970s, and she occasionally appeared on television during the 1980s. Powell moved to Wilton, Connecticut from New York City in 2015 following the death of her fifth husband, Dickie Moore, and she was occasionally active in local theater until her death in 2021 at the age of 92.
Powell was a supporter of the Republican Party, singing the national anthem at the 1956 Republican National Convention.
