
Jan Wejhard Wrzesowicz (1623-28 August 1656) was a Czech count and a major-general of the Swedish Army during the Deluge.
Biography[]
Jan Wejhard Wrzesowicz was born in Vřesovice, Moravia in 1623, and he became the leaseholder of a Polish salt mine during the 1650s. After his lease was withdrawn due to non-payment to the royal treasury, he sided with the Swedish invaders in 1655, becoming a major-general in King Charles X Gustav of Sweden's army. He was defeated at the siege of Jasna Gora in 1655-1656, and he was slain at the Battle of Lubrze while trying to relieve Kalisz from a Polish siege.
