Jan-Carl Raspe (24 July 1944-18 October 1977) was a Red Army Faction guerrilla.
Biography[]
Jan-Carl Raspe was born on 24 July 1944 in Seefeld, Tyrol, Austria, Nazi Germany. He lived in East Berlin until the construction of the Berlin Wall, and he headed to West Berlin in 1961, living with his aunt. In 1970, he joined the Red Army Faction militant group during the struggle against the capitalist government of West Germany, and on 1 June 1972 he was arrested in a Frankfurt storage garage alongside Andreas Baader and Holger Meins while assembling bombs. On 18 October 1977, he supposedly shot himself in jail, the same day as Baader and Gudrun Ensslin's "suicides"; there has been susicion that they were executed by West German police without trial.
