Jamie Raskin

Jamin "Jamie" Ben Raskin (born 13 December 1962) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-MD 8) from 3 January 2017, succeeding Chris Van Hollen.

Biography[]

Jamie Raskin was born in Washington DC in 1962, the son of a progressive social critic. He worked as an author before serving in the Maryland Senate from 2007 to 2016 and in the US House of Representatives from 2017. He was a strong proponent of liberal issues such as advocating same-sex marriage, opposing the death penalty, and supported the legalization of marijuana.
