
James Willis Patterson (2 July 1823-4 May 1893) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-NH 3) from 4 March 1863 to 3 March 1867 (succeeding Thomas M. Edwards and preceding Jacob Benton) and a US Senator from 4 March 1867 to 3 March 1873 (succeeding George G. Fogg and preceding Bainbridge Wadeleigh).
Biography[]
James Willis Patterson was born in Henniker, Merrimack County, New Hampshire in 1823. He went on to become a professor at Dartmouth College from 1854 to 1865, in the State House in 1862, in the US House of Representatives from 1863 to 1867, and in the US Senate from 1867 to 1873. He died in 1893.
